THE CHAIR by Gregg Goldston (edited)

I don’t live in my home country so I only see my far relatives from time to time. This is when I am forced to do an elevator pitch of my life abroad. Last time after I have summed up my life, one of my relative’s comment was: “But this is not reality!” My answer was: “What do you mean? This is MY reality!”
Everybody has a different reality, we all create our reality every day with our thoughts. Through our beliefs, our perception of what is possible and what is not and our emotions, we create the world. And nobody can tell you that what you have created is not reality. It is your reality. It is true for you. It is your world.
The “this is not reality” comment is a very interesting one to analyze. See, what I had described was my life full of fun, freedom, possibilities. This was labeled as “not reality”. This whole situation shows a very frightening phenomenon, that by many people reality is perceived as a chore, as something that has to be hard and far from pleasurable.
In fact, whenever you try to challenge established schemes, you will hear that your head is in the clouds, that you are dreaming! Whenever you hear that, it means that you are truly alive! Dreaming means conceiving a thought and that thought charged with emotion will push you to act. Nothing can exist without a previous thought of it, without a dream. It is when you are without a dream, that you should be worried. Having a dream and seeing your thought being manifested in your reality is one of the most wonderful experiences in life.

Here's my opinion: artistic talent is largely learned. Most of the so-called experts will argue this statement, of course. They’ll proclaim that artistic oil painting techniques are only in the grasp of those rare individuals that are born with a mysteriously God-like ability to create art. Being lowly mortals, we should never even try to understand art let alone try to create it. Give me a break! Click here For the rest of the story: Free Painting Lesson
