Starting a Non Profit Camp?
I am 14 years old and im looking to start a non profit camp for poor/homeless/unfortunate children. i dont want to be located in one specific area, but travel to different homeless shelters and hospitals and teach kids about the arts such as dance, visual arts, theater, music, reading to them, do workshops and provide the supplies. get sponsered by Micheals for art supplies, get a logo, make tee shirts, etc etc. i have a partner i want to do this with and my mother is a lawyer. what do i do to start something like this??
by the way i am very passionate and serious about starting this and taking up my summer doing this. I love in miami florida.
Whilst I don’t doubt your seriousness or integrity, I believe that you would have difficulty in persuading shelters and hospitals (and Michael’s) to agree to this, because of your age. There are public liability issues. Speak again to your mum, she will know about legal issues. If you are still convinced that you can do it, then you need to sound out likely shelters and hospitals, to see if they agree with you. Then you would need to negotiate with Michael’s.
I have put on public events, but personally I would consider this way too huge a project. My sensible side advises you to try to volunteer at one place only, and do less ambitious activities. My reckless side says to ignore ♫ Rum Rhythms ♫ and give it your best shot.
Art Supplies for Kids
Here's my opinion: artistic talent is largely learned. Most of the so-called experts will argue this statement, of course. They’ll proclaim that artistic oil painting techniques are only in the grasp of those rare individuals that are born with a mysteriously God-like ability to create art. Being lowly mortals, we should never even try to understand art let alone try to create it. Give me a break! Click here For the rest of the story: Free Painting Lesson
