Ride on the Path past the Pulaski Skyway
I spend many years in a large corporate environment with people perception was ‘bigger the better’. Many consumers would only trust dealing with the household names, even if it meant paying a large premium. Fast forward 10 years and the Internets playing a massive part in everyday business, more people are working from home and a professional good looking website with good marketing can put you competition with some of the largest players in the niche..
One of the big advantages of a home based business is the overheads. I have personally run a few e-commerce sites selling physical products rather that digital ones. One of these sites sold motor accessories (namely parking sensors) where the customer would pick the product from the website, purchase it and then an engineer would come out and fit it to your car. In the space of 4 years, I sold in excess of 3,000 units AND made money on each fitting…all of this and I worked from a spare bedroom online and just passed the fittings on to an external company via email. Incidental, MTV’s Pimp My Ride contacted me and asked if I wanted to be featured on the show, as did channel 4’s ‘The Gadget Show’…both had the impression that I had a large company, whereas the truth of the matter was I just had a good website and one employee, me!
Using the same formula as the motor accessories site I opened up a professional canvas printing service, again from home. Within no time I had managed to get a customer base of over 40 professional photographers all ordering prints on a regular basis…again, some of the industry leaders were using me as they loved the product and loved the price even more. I didn’t NEED to add a massive premium to cover the expense of staff and premises which gave me a massive advantage.
Now this article wasn’t someway I could sing my own praises online but I wanted to let you know that I HAVE run different businesses from home on the Internet and it is totally feasible. Peoples attitude towards business is changing, especially in a recession. As long as you have a good product, friendly service and a great price then people WILL overlook your working location.
The Future
I think that the current recession has taught us a lot and has changed the mindset of many. People have found themselves either losing their job or going through months of uncertainty as if their job would be secure. Being able to put a website together and promote products or services for next to nothing has opened peoples eyes to the fact that they can be in control of their future income, build a business and dictate their own financial future. I can see 10 years from now that a massive portion of the workforce will be their own 1 employee companies working from home on the net!
In Summary
Everyone has a skill or idea that other people want to have access to…with the know how of putting that into the form of a website and promoting it online you are able to either supplement or even replace you current income. You can work on a business in your spare time (while you are still working) and because it is Internet based, the sales process can be automated so you don’t need to be ‘on call’ 9-5!
The only thing that hold many people back is the ‘know how’ to put a website together and market it efficiently. There are currently many ‘business opportunity programs’ (Including YourNetBizUpdate.co.uk) which give you the products and knowledge to do just that.
The home business is the future and in the coming few years, many bedroom millionaires will be made…but the question is will you be one of them?
All the best in your success,
Andy

Here's my opinion: artistic talent is largely learned. Most of the so-called experts will argue this statement, of course. They’ll proclaim that artistic oil painting techniques are only in the grasp of those rare individuals that are born with a mysteriously God-like ability to create art. Being lowly mortals, we should never even try to understand art let alone try to create it. Give me a break! Click here For the rest of the story: Free Painting Lesson
