Butler Book Lends Art Fans Look at Museum Exhibits
Art enthusiasts will soon be able to have a piece of the Butler Institute of American Art in their own homes. We’re not talking an actual painting, but a book featuring many of the museum’s most beloved works.
How can I find out info on a painting I bought at an auction?
I tried his name (George Stark)the title of print (Sandpit)the year of the show(1953) and The Butler Art Institute, Youngstown Ohio
Go to a library and check out art books or take the painting to an art dealer such as Sothbys for authenticity.
Here's my opinion: artistic talent is largely learned. Most of the so-called experts will argue this statement, of course. They’ll proclaim that artistic oil painting techniques are only in the grasp of those rare individuals that are born with a mysteriously God-like ability to create art.
