Has anyone read Maus by Art Spiegelman??
i have a summer reading question tht i dont really get.. can some1 plz help me??
here is the question :
In an interview with Art Spiegelman, he states, “If there’s one thing my father taught me, it’s not to trust groups.” Find examples where Vladek’s experiences reinforce this idea.
He’s talking about the mob mentality. As humans, not all of us easily take the leadership role. Unfortunately, through history, we have seen people support the slaughter of Jews during the Holocaust. Although there were many other underlying factors as to why people followed the Nazi group, one of these factors was the mob mentality. As humans, once we have been separated into groups, it’s in our nature to be competitive with other groups or individuals, in some cases this can be deadly.

Here's my opinion: artistic talent is largely learned. Most of the so-called experts will argue this statement, of course. They’ll proclaim that artistic oil painting techniques are only in the grasp of those rare individuals that are born with a mysteriously God-like ability to create art.
